Bluvy Tube 1.1: What's New

Bluvy CoreNov 1, 2026

Bluvy Tube is now at version 1.1! This release marks an important milestone in the platform's evolution. We've been working on several key areas: improving the viewing experience, providing better tools for creators, expanding sharing options, and making the entire platform faster and more reliable.

Our goal is simple: to offer an increasingly complete video experience without losing what makes Bluvy Tube unique. Your content and creations remain hosted on your Bluesky account. We don't want to own your data.

We've also listened to your feedback, particularly regarding unexpected logouts after a few hours of inactivity. That issue has now been fixed.

Here's what you can expect from version 1.1.

A more comfortable viewing experience

Watching a video shouldn't prevent you from exploring the rest of the platform. That's why we've introduced several improvements to the video player.

The mini-player now lets you continue watching a video in a small player fixed at the bottom of the screen while browsing Tube. You can explore other pages without interrupting playback and return to the video with a single click.

We've also expanded the available keyboard shortcuts to make navigation more intuitive. You can pause videos, skip forward or backward by five seconds, jump to specific points in a video, navigate frame by frame, and control subtitles. Press ? to see the complete list of shortcuts.

Another new feature is the sleep timer. You can schedule playback to stop automatically after a selected duration or at the end of the current video. It's particularly useful if you tend to fall asleep while watching videos and don't want another one to start automatically.

Creators can now also configure end screens. During the final seconds of a video, they can display up to two suggestions: another video, a playlist, or a subscription prompt.

Finally, videos with translations now benefit from improved language support. Titles and descriptions can be displayed in your interface language, and translated subtitles are available directly in the player.

A smoother immersive mode

We're also continuing to improve our immersive mode, inspired by the short-form video experiences popularized by TikTok and YouTube Shorts.

The vertical feed has been optimized: only the videos around the one you're currently watching remain active. This reduces memory and battery consumption while making scrolling smoother, even during longer sessions.

A complete workspace for creators

This update also brings several important improvements to the Creator Studio. We want to give creators more control over their presence and how their content is presented.

Customize your channel

Your channel can now better reflect your identity. You can add a banner, a description, your external links, a trailer for new visitors, and a featured video for your subscribers.

This information is stored directly on your Bluesky account. It remains associated with your identity rather than simply being stored on our servers.

Translations and subtitles in one place

We've introduced a dedicated translations and subtitles page for every video.

You can search for a language, translate your title and description while keeping the original text alongside it, and preview the result exactly as viewers will see it.

You can also upload subtitle files for each language. We've improved how longer texts are handled too: if a description exceeds certain limits, you can now edit and save it without losing your work.

Video clips are here

Viewers can now select a segment of a video and share it as a clip, with a link back to the full video.

Would you rather keep your videos available in their entirety without allowing clips? You can disable this feature directly from your channel settings.

More detailed analytics

We've redesigned the analytics available in Creator Studio to help you better understand how people discover your videos.

For each video, you can now identify where your views come from: search, home feed, related videos, playlists, Bluesky, embedded players on external websites, search engines, or direct links.

You can also export your analytics to CSV with a single click, making it easy to explore and analyze your data in your preferred spreadsheet application.

Public and shareable playlists

Playlists now have their own public pages.

You can organize videos in any order you like and choose to make a playlist unlisted. In that case, it will only be accessible to people who have its direct link.

Better comment management

We've added several tools to help you stay in control of the discussions under your videos.

Each comment now has a menu allowing you to pin it, give it a heart that is visible to everyone, or hide it. You can also restore comments you've previously hidden.

Creator Studio also introduces blocked words. When a comment contains one of your configured terms, it is automatically held for review. Only you can see it, and you decide whether to approve or hide it.

Share your videos everywhere

We want videos published on Bluvy Tube to circulate freely across the Web and reach audiences beyond our platform.

The sharing menu now offers more options: QR codes, direct links to different social networks, and embed code for displaying a video on an external website, with the ability to specify its starting point.

Embedding is no longer limited to individual videos. You can now embed an entire playlist or your channel on your website or blog.

Compatible services that support link embeds, such as WordPress and Notion, can also automatically display the player when you paste a Bluvy Tube link.

For developers and website creators, we're also introducing two easy-to-integrate widgets: a subscribe button and a channel badge.

Follow creators with Atom feeds

Every channel now has its own Atom feed.

You can follow your favorite creators through your preferred feed reader without needing a Bluvy Tube account.

Better visibility in search engines

We've also improved how search engines discover and understand videos.

Essential information such as titles, durations, thumbnails, and player details is now better structured. A dedicated video sitemap also makes it easier for search engines to discover indexed content on Tube.

The goal is to give videos more opportunities to appear in search results, including with their thumbnails.

Better performance and reliability

This release isn't just about new visible features. A significant part of our work has focused on improving how Bluvy Tube operates behind the scenes.

Unexpected logouts are fixed

Several users reported a recurring issue: after a few hours away, they would return to a message indicating that their account was no longer connected.

We identified the root cause. When multiple pages were reloaded simultaneously, each one attempted to independently renew the Bluesky connection. These simultaneous operations could be interpreted as an anomaly.

Session renewal is now centralized to prevent these conflicts. A simple network issue should no longer cause unexpected logouts.

A much lighter website

We've also reviewed several internal processes to reduce the workload on our infrastructure.

The homepage now requires up to 15 times less database processing. History, saved videos, and playlists have also received significant optimizations, reducing the number of queries needed to display them.

The video editor is now only loaded when you select a file to edit, rather than immediately when opening the upload page.

Finally, we've improved caching across several pages to reduce loading times.

More privacy-friendly browsing

We've also improved how the platform works for visitors who don't have an account or aren't logged in.

Watching a video while logged out no longer creates a user session on our servers. This reduces unnecessary processing and the amount of data associated with a simple visit.

Other fixes and improvements

This release also includes numerous smaller fixes that are just as important to the overall quality of the service.

  • Publishing limits: Videos exceeding Bluesky's limits, including the 10-minute or 300 MB limits, are now flagged before upload.
  • Channel customization: Fixed an error when saving a channel without a featured video.
  • Analytics export: The export button is now easier to find in Creator Studio, and CSV files respect your selected language.
  • Analytics: Fixed view and like counts for channels with more than 100 videos.
  • Saved videos: The save button now turns yellow when a video has already been added to your saved videos.
  • Embedded players: Fixed an issue with autoplay and improved support for the language selected in the embedded player.
  • Channel navigation: Fixed several tab links that could lead to pages that couldn't be found.
  • Video clips: Clips from accounts excluded from Tube are no longer displayed.
  • Security: Improved domain validation to prevent links from being generated under another domain's identity.

What's next?

Version 1.1 represents an important milestone for Bluvy Tube. We wanted to go beyond simple visual improvements and build a more complete platform for both viewers and creators.

Many of these improvements came directly from your feedback. Every reported issue, suggestion, and feature request helps us make the service better.

If you're a creator, we encourage you to explore the new possibilities in Creator Studio: channel customization, translations, subtitles, analytics, and comment moderation.

And if you've experienced unexpected logouts, you may need to log in one last time to fully benefit from this update.

Thank you for being part of the Bluvy Tube journey.

Enjoy watching on Bluvy Tube!
